Computational Linguistics for Socially-Responsible Technology

This talk introduces my work in computational cognitive linguistics and computational sociolinguistics: from construction grammar and metaphor to dialect and register variation. Along the way I’ll show how this work has been used to improve equity and access in language technology, including measuring bias in models and developing resources for under-represented populations.
