Professor Thompson’s innovative Multilanguage Seminar featured

Religious Studies and Language Sciences Professor Katrina Daly Thompson was featured in a recent edition of the Letters & Sciences magazine. The article “Speaking Volumes” by Katie Vaughn highlights Thompson’s creation of the innovative Multilanguage Seminar in the Department of African Cultural Studies, a flexible course designed to allow students to make progress in a less commonly taught language not offered on campus (or not offered at higher levels). Thompson is currently working together with Adeola Agoke, Assistant Teaching Professor in African Cultural Studies, on a research project to analyze student outcomes in the program. The study is funded by a grant from the US Department of Education.
