George received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from UW-Madison in January 2019. His primary research interests were phonetics, phonology, and Chinese linguistics. His dissertation, Stress Production by Mandarin Speaking Learners of English, considered the second-language phonology implications of Mandarin speakers’ production of the phonetic correlates of stress in English.
George currently works for Akorbi providing transcription services to Google. He and his wife, Li Wang Corley, have founded Corley English, which provides English language learning and academic editing services to Chinese speakers globally and is producing online English courses on YouTube and Bilibili.
