Biography

Taylor Koss was born deaf to hearing parents with two sisters, one of them is deaf as well. He attended and graduated high school from Wisconsin School for the Deaf. While in college Taylor was also a student track and field athlete and had an instructional job teaching ASL at HEAR WI. He worked many different roles while he pursued his ASL certification. He is currently teaching ASL (1-4) at the high school level in Madison and also mentors and advocates for deaf and hard of hearing students. Taylor is a member of USA Deaf Track & Field, and a successful Deaflympian. During his Deaflympic experiences he met and acquired a knowledge of Deaf foreign cultures and languages from all over the world, communicating through gestuno sign language. Throughout his world and life experiences in Deaflympics and teaching to a range of ages, Taylor realized ASL is an enhanced ability to interpret body language and promotes better awareness of and sensitivity to the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
