Call for Papers
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Linguistics Student Organization (LSO) invites submissions for papers to be presented at the 20th Annual Workshop in General Linguistics (WiGL 20), to be held in-person Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, 2026 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition, online sessions will be held on Thursday, March 12 2026 and the morning of Friday, March 13 2026. The keynote speakers for the workshop are to be determined.
WiGL is a conference run by students for students and is a forum for all students from UW-Madison and other institutions to present and share their research. We invite abstracts from undergraduate, graduate, and recently graduated students for 30-minute presentations (20 minutes + 10 minutes for questions), posters, and 60-minute workshops on any linguistics-related topic.
Abstracts should be at most 500 words, not including data, graphics, or references, and should not include the author’s name or affiliation. Abstracts for workshops should include a tentative breakdown of workshop elements and its learning outcomes. Please submit abstracts in pdf format. Abstracts will be accepted until 16 January 2026 at 11:59PM CST, and decisions will be announced in mid February. Please submit abstracts via this Google form:
