The Workshop in General Lingusitics (WiGL) is a friendly venue for undergraduate and graduate student researchers to present their projects to the campus community. WiGL is organized by the UW-Madison Language Sciences Linguistics Student Organization and has been held most years since 2003. WiGL 20 will take place in person on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, with additional online sessions on Thursday and on Friday morning. In person events will be held in 6191 and 7191 Helen C. White Hall. We will have many presentations and posters with topics covering a wide range of subfields including phonology, phonetics, language acquisition, pragmatics, syntax, and more!
Our faculty keynote speakers are UW-Madison Post-doc Lina Brixey (Information School) and Professor L.J. Randolph Jr. (Curriculum & Instruction).
There is no fee to register or attend, but advanced registration is appreciated as it helps the organizers plan for catering and supplies.
